HUSSAIN KARIM is currently employed as an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of Attorney General (OAG) for the District of Columbia.  In this position, he works with the District Department of the Environment (DDOE) on the implementation of laws related to renewable energy and energy efficiency programs in the nation’s capital.  His prior experience includes working for Pepco Holdings, Inc., a large utility company based in Washington, DC as well as being an in-house counsel for VICCS, Inc., a consulting firm based in Rockville, Maryland.  Mr. Karim has been a member of SABA-DC for several years, and has volunteered for SAALT (South Asian Americans Leading Together).  Hussain has also done pro bono legal work for Human Rights Watch. 

Mr. Karim earned a B.S. (magna cum laude) from the University of Maryland, College Park, a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center, and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business.  He is a member of the Maryland State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
